The Holy Trinity

A deeply powerful and compelling image of the Holy Trinity painted by Masaccio in about 1425-1427 in the church of Santa Maria Novella in Florence. Our narrator, expert art historian Andrew Graham-Dixon, sees it playing an important part in contradicting the theory that the Renaissance was the beginning of man’s detachment from religious belief and God. This painting demonstrates quite the opposite.
